my one word 2014

I needed something big, and something different for 2014. I needed a word that would really change my life + my perspective.

It took me forever to come up with a word. I thought, prayed, read, looked around at other people’s words, made a pinterest board, and thought some more. And prayed some more. But nothing seemed to fit…

April was getting closer and closer, and I was getting nowhere. Then one day I was working on a project, and I kept telling myself

“I’m determined to finish this. I HAVE to finish this. I’ve made up my mind to finish.”

 It was then that it hit me. determine. That’s my word.

Before I even start a project, I’m determining to FINISH, regardless of the outcome.

I’m determining- I WILL succeed!
