a different look at modesty.

Lately I've been thinking a lot about the matter of modesty! It's a rather controversial subject, but one that to an extent is simply a personal decision  between you and God. Today I'm going to talk about modesty from a different perspective...

MODESTY: the quality of being modest, freedom from vanity, boastfulness, etc. (Dictionary.com)

One thing that is very prominent in circles today that emphasize modesty is pride. 

Ladies are proud of being modest. They are glad (proud) that they don't dress like other women. They are proud that they dress "more" modestly than other women. They are so thankful that they know better.

Pride is on Gods hate list. I'd say pride is almost worse than immodesty. 

I mean seriously. Even if you were to cover every part of your body, it means nothing if you're proud of it!

"An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked is sin." Proverbs 21:4

Modesty is about not drawing attention to yourself. It's about not showing off just HOW "modest" you can be. It's not about being proud.

Modesty is humbleness in action.
